I.    About BIT

Founded in 1940, Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT) is a top national university in China, recognized under the prestigious “211 Project,” “985 Project,” and “Double First-Class” initiatives. BIT enjoys a strong reputation both domestically and internationally, as reflected in a series of notable rankings: 259th in the 2026 QS World University Rankings, within the top 102 in the 2025 Academic Ranking of World Universities (ARWU), 156th in the 2025 U.S. News & World Report Best Global Universities Rankings, and 236th in the 2026 Times Higher Education (THE) World University Rankings. In addition, BIT ranked 9th among universities in the Chinese Mainland in the QS Global Graduate Employability Rankings 2022. BIT also holds the top spot for Higher General Education Accreditation for International Students in China.

Founded in 2001, Beijing Institute of Technology, Zhuhai (BIT Zhuhai) is a high-level international campus established in the Guangdong–Hong Kong–Macao Greater Bay Area by Beijing Institute of Technology (BIT). Located in the “Golden Inner Bay” and at the heart of the Zhuhai National Hi-Tech Zone, the campus enjoys a prime position with convenient access to Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Hong Kong, and Macao, offering a beautiful and inspiring environment for learning. Adhering to Where intelligence converges, diversity harmonizes, and excellence blooms, BIT Zhuhai has been building and developing a distinctive international education system that reflects the unique character of the Greater Bay Area and the excellence of the “Study in BIT” brand. B.       Application Period: October 15th, 2025 to June 1st, 2026

C.      Eligibility

1.        Be non-Chinese citizens and in good health both mentally and physically, and will observe the Chinese laws and the regulations, and the rules and regulations of Beijing Institute of Technology;

2.        Be an academically excellent holder of a bachelor’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 35 when applying for a master’s program;

3.        Be an academically excellent holder of a master’s degree or its equivalent under the age of 40 when applying for a Ph.D. program;

4.        For Chinese-taught programs, an HSK certificate (minimum level 5 with a score of 180 or above) is required; for English-taught programs, a minimum score of 85 in TOEFL, an overall band of 6.0 in IELTS, or a score of 110 in the Duolingo English Test is required. Alternatively, other language certificates recognized by BIT may be provided (native English speakers are exempt);

5.        Have at least 1-year related working or internship experience for MBA program.

*5. Personal Statement & Study Plan

*6. Two recommendation letters by professors or associate professors

*7. Recommendation Form for International Student by BIT Supervisors

*8. Physical Examination Record for Foreigner (with the blood test report)

*9. Proof of Language Proficiency

*10. Non-Criminal Record

11. Financial Guarantee Letter

IV.    Scholarships

A.    Chinese Government Scholarship (CSC)

1.      University Program (Type B)

   Including High Level Graduate Program, Silk Road Program, etc.

(1) Full Scholarship Coverage

Tuition fees; Free university dormitory or accommodation subsidy; Stipend: Master’s students: CNY 3,000/month, Ph.D. students: CNY 3,500/month; Comprehensive medical insurance: CNY 800/person/year

(2) Application Procedure

l  Register at http://studyinchina.csc.edu.cn and upload required documents. (BIT’s Agency No. is 10007; Type: B).

l  Register at http://apply.isc.cnyaxi.com and upload required documents.

(3) Application Period

October 15th, 2025 to February 15th, 2026 (For CSC applicants, first round) 

February 16th, 2026 to April 15th, 2026 (For CSC applicants, second round) 

 

2.      Bilateral Program (Type A)

The program accords with the cooperation and exchange agreements or consensus reached by the Chinese government and the governments and institutions of other nations. An applicant shall file an application with the dispatching department of their home countries.

 

B.     International Chinese Language Teachers Scholarship

Only the Master's degree program in International Chinese Language Education is supported.
